Henry A. “T-Boy” McCall, Jr., 93, of Cameron, LA passed away at 3:03 PM on Friday, January 16, 2026 in his residence.
T-Boy was born on November 5, 1932, in Grand Chenier, Louisiana, to Henry A. McCall, Sr. and Gladys Miller McCall.
He graduated from Grand Chenier High School in 1950 and went on to further his education at a mechanical trade school. His technical skill and love for the sea shaped a remarkable career that spanned more than six decades.
In 1954, while working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico for Pure Oil Company, T-Boy earned his 100-ton master motor vessel license—an achievement he renewed numerous times over six decades, a testament to his dedication, expertise, and enduring work ethic.
By 1960, he began operating his own offshore vessels, first the Sunrise II and later the Sunrise III. Both vessels served as charter fishing boats throughout East Texas and the western Gulf of Mexico, earning T-Boy a reputation as a skilled captain and respected businessman.
An avid fisherman, T-Boy made history during the Southwest Louisiana Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo on July 4, 1971, when he caught a record-setting 1,175-pound shark—an accomplishment still remembered with pride.
Over the course of his career, he owned five Russian Trawlers and sixteen offshore vessels. He operated offshore supply companies, including Gulf Ocean Service and McCall Offshore Docks in Cameron. McCall Offshore Docks remains in operation today and will continue to do so, playing an important role in supporting offshore operations and contributing to the local maritime economy.
T-Boy McCall will be remembered for his deep knowledge of the sea, his entrepreneurial spirit, and his lasting impact on the offshore industry of Southwest Louisiana.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Fe Tesoro McCall; children, Elizabeth LeBert, Monique McCall, and Henry “Brooks” McCall, III (Maria); and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, David McCall; and his siblings, Norman McCall, Emma Arceneaux, Claude “Pete” McCall, and Oma “Blue Eyes” Miller.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate.
