Hilda Richard

Hilda Domingue Lantier Richard, 91, of Lake Charles, passed away on Monday February 19, 2024 at a local hospital after a brief illness.

Hilda was a native of Mermentau and a resident of Lake Charles since 1954. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, six children, Katherine Bresofski and husband Mark of Sulphur, Jeanette Vitello and husband Kenneth of Many, LA, Barbara Richard of Sulphur, Judy Smith of Westlake, Michael Richard and wife Christa of Lake Charles and David Richard and wife Tamra of Lake Charles; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.  She also leaves seven sisters, Bertha Fall of Rayne, Linda Freyou of New Iberia, Leota Castille of Youngsville Anne Bergeron, Carencro, Nancy Ellis of Madisonville, LA, Elizabeth Block of Lafayette, and Lori Guillory of Ponchatoula, LA and three brothers, Theodore Domingue of Church Point, Raymond Domingue of Lafayette and Louis Domingue of Churchpoint as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family of the heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin L. Richard, Jr.; daughter, Diane Dugas; parents, Frank and Lois DeValcourt Domingue; four sisters, Edith Lantier, Verdie Guidry, Hazel Ewing and Della Thompson and five brothers, Joseph Lantier, Louis Lantier, Martin Lantier, Percy Menard and Frankie Domingue.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 AM Saturday February, 24, 2024 at St. Margaret Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles.  Father Andy DeRouen will officiate.  Interment services will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.  Visitation Friday will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a rosary service beginning at 6:00 PM.  Visitation Saturday will be from 8:30 AM until 9:15 AM in the funeral home.
