Iowa – Homer Edward Guinn, Sr., 90, passed away in a local hospital on Sunday, January 15, 2017.
Homer was born in Knoxville, TN on March 9, 1926. He joined the U. S. Navy and later the U. S. Army. Homer worked as a diesel mechanic and as a custodian for Western Heights Elementary in Westlake. In his spare time, Homer enjoyed woodworking and watching sports. You never saw Homer without his cigar!
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Vinenalla “Vi” Guinn; children, Deborah “Debbie” Foreman (Mike), Homer E. “Buddy” Guinn, Jr., Mary Farque (Olen) and Donald Guinn (Denise); 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Richard Guinn; and 10 siblings.
His cremation was entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Per his wishes, there will be no service.
