Howard Bret Hoffpauir

Howard Bret Hoffpauir, 58, of Lake Charles, LA, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at a local hospital.

Mr. Hoffpauir was born August 19, 1959 in Baton Rouge, LA. He worked for over forty years in the oilfield as a consultant. He loved riding horses and working cattle. He also enjoyed making really beautiful leatherwork and was an excellent cook, participating in numerous chili and brisket cook-offs. Mr. Hoffpauir also enjoyed reading, especially Western novels.

Mr. Hoffpauir is survived by his father, Howard James Hoffpauir and wife Judy of Ragley, LA; son, Dustin Hoffpauir and wife Patricia of Lake Charles; daughter, Alyson Lynn Arvites and husband Nick of Denver, CO; sisters, Stephanie Hoffpauir of Houston, TX and Marcy Hoffpauir of Oklahoma City, OK; and four grandchildren, Gavin, Damian, Alicia, and Scarlett; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann Hoffpauir.

His memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend John Hoffpauir will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
