It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Howard Kenneth Davis, who died on June 17, 2026, at 7:50 p.m. in Temple, Texas, at the age of 86.
Howard was born on January 7, 1940, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He lived a life defined by hard work, reliability, faith, patriotism, and devotion to his family. He was known as a dependable and hardworking man who took pride in doing things the right way and being there for the people who counted on him.
Howard proudly served his country in the United States Army, attaining the rank of E-3 (T). He served for four years with the 451st Quartermaster Company out of Lake Charles, Louisiana. His love of country remained an important part of who he was throughout his life.
Howard built a long and respected career as a pipefitter in the petrochemical industry and with the Department of Defense. He retired from both Local 106 Plumbers and Steamfitters and the Department of Defense, leaving behind a legacy of skill, dedication, and honest work.
Above all, Howard enjoyed time spent with his family and his church. His faith, steady presence, and strong work ethic will be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
Howard is survived by his children, Shari, Steve, Kenneth Wayne, and Keith Davis; his stepdaughter, Beth; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Gilbert and Mary.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Emma Davis; his spouses, Geraldine and Florence; and his stepson, Matt.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Howard at a graveside service on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Lewis Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana. Military honors will be rendered. Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles is handling the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Howard's honor to a veterans charity of your choice.
