Hunter Snider

June 11, 1996 — May 7, 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Hunter David Snider, who left us on May 7, 2025, at the young age of 28. Born on June 11, 1996, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Hunter was a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend.

When God in His wisdom graced the world with this special child, all the fear and heartbreak were miraculously turned into pure unselfish love. From the beginning he was a joy to be around, always happy. He taught everyone around him that even through his disabilities life was such an exceptional gift. A gift to be cherished. A gift to be honored. It is a gift that comes straight from God.

With Hunter there was never a dull moment... from his love of his cat, any house under construction, or just swinging in his swing on the back porch. He was also a serious prankster with everyone, especially his teachers and his big sister. His bond of love with his sister, Laken, was unmatched and so strong. Hunter loved anything that moved; golf carts, trucks, go-carts, and roller coasters…but only FAST ones. The sparkle in his eyes and his snickering laughter was never for below the surface.

Grandparents were lovingly included in every part of Hunter's life. Their nourishing care and love were never taken for granted. Friends, family and even strangers were drawn by his smile. Hunter taught us that the unmeasurable gift of caring for others is what brings the most peace and joy. A servant's heart is what God treasures!

Hunter is survived by his loving parents David and Angela Snider; his sister Laken Hickman, along with her husband Matt Hickman; His grandparents, Ike Davis, June Davis, Bonnie Sommers, Harry Sommers, Don Snider Sr., and Sherry Snider. His nephew, Hayes Hickman, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who adored him.

We would like to thank Dr. Stuart Landry and Dr. Jason Langhofer for their care of Hunter. They were more than just doctors, they were friends, and we love them as family.
