I.B. “Mike” Alford, 90, of Sulphur passed away on January 20, 2017 in his residence. He worked in the oil and gas industry around the world exploring for oil and gas as a seismographer, loved to cook, gardening, fishing and making homemade wine. Mike served his country in the U.S. Navy and was very proud of his service to his country.
Mike is survived by his wife of 71 years, Edna Alford of Sulphur; his three grandchildren, “Scooter” Alford of Santa Fe, TX, Melissa Kay Roberson and husband Dalton, and Mitchell Wayne Alford all of Denham Springs, LA; his 6 great-grandchildren, Brandon Leach and wife, Tiffany, River Alford, Lakelynn Alford, Kaylee Alford, Dalton Roberson, and Emma Alford;1 great-great grandchild, Briley Leach; and his 2 sisters, Linda Watley and Mae Odom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivy and Merley Mae Alford; his son, Michael Alford; and 9 siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 2:30 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Walker officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 27 from 11 A.M. until time of the service.Visits: 2
