Irvin Lee Nugent Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on April 15, 1945, to Leo Henry and Curley Marie Nugent.

Irvin proudly served in the Marine Corps and the Army for several years. He served as Fire Department in Moss Bluff for several years before going on to work as a truck driver, transporting chemicals across the United States. Irvin was very involved in the lives of his sons and grandchildren, and he especially loved being a great-grandfather. He knew the Lord and is now dancing with his beloved wife, Thersa, in Heaven.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sons, Irvin Lee Nugent Jr. and wife, Debra; Wesley Nugent and wife, Charlotte; David Nugent and wife, Deborah; Christopher Nugent; and Travis Nugent Sr. and wife, Jessica; grandchildren, Kayla and husband, Austin; Karen and husband, Justin; Kortni and husband, Kyle; Matthew and wife, Emily; Dylan and wife, Ashley; Taylor; Carlie; Travis Jr.; Abby; and Madison; great-grandchildren, Sutton, Leighton, Vera, Nolan, Max, Bryson, Brayden, Kamdyn, Asher, Claire, Paisley, Beckett, Roman, Zoe, A’Niyah, and Karson; brothers, Larry Reed and wife, Kayla; Togie Nugent; and James Nugent; sisters, Patsy Guidry and husband, Allen, and Sandra Nugent; along with numerous loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in passing by his loving wife of 42 years, Theresa Nugent; his parents, Leo Henry and Curley Marie Nugent; grandson, Marcus Nugent; and siblings, Jackie Reed, Jack Crochet, Spencer Vincent, James Mitchell, and Vernice Murphy.

A funeral service will be held Monday, September 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and will continue Monday at 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. He will be laid to rest at Hebert Cemetery.
