Ivan Alton Trull

Ivan Alton Trull, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 1, 1933, in Burkeville, Texas, to Flora Jarrell and Dock Trull.

Ivan proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 14 years, including during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he worked as a jet engine mechanic in the defense industry and as an industrial mechanic for several plants. Ivan was a true jack-of-all-trades who could fix just about anything.

Outside of work, Ivan found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved deer hunting with his beloved dogs, Sport and Spot, tending to his catfish pond, working in his vegetable garden, and simply piddling around in the yard. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Gillis, where he was part of the church family for many years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Viola Faye Weathersby Trull; his children, Kenneth I. Trull and wife Allison, and Sharon Clarke and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Brandie Kimbro and husband Randall, and Chelsea McLemore and husband Daniel; great-grandchildren, Malia and Mylie Hammers, Halie Thibodeaux, and Loreli and Jensen McLemore; special friend, Chris Hammers; his loving dog, Junior; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, Flora Jarrell and Dock Trull; his siblings, Cameron and Adrian Trull, and Gene Fowler.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff, with Brother Glen George officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning and continue until the time of service. Burial will take place on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Resthaven Cemetery (685 S 3rd St, Silsbee, TX 77656).
