J.C. Como

James Clarence “J.C.” Como, 78, of Sulphur passed away on January 23, 2017. A retired lab worker from the local chemical industry, J.C. was also a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and had a wide circle of friends in the Sulphur community that has always been his home. He will be remembered by many for his years spent coaching youth sports.  

J.C. was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. J.C. is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Shirley Doucet Como of Sulphur; his daughter Kristy Como Armand of Lake Charles; son Doug Como and wife Kristy of Sulphur; grandchildren Haley and husband John Tarasiewicz, Michael Armand, Jacey Armand and Geoffrey Como; and his sister Sherry Como Trahan. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Lucia Como, his son Keith Como and his grandchildren Erica Armand, Nicole Armand and Wendy Armand.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 10 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel in Sulphur with Rev. Bino Francis, M.S. officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 5-8 P.M. with a rosary at 7 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Thursday, January 26 from 8 A.M. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Catholic Charities of SWLA.
