December 5, 1950 — May 23, 2026

Lake Charles

Jacque Artie Dore, 75, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday, May 23, 2026 in Houston, TX.

Mr. Dore was a native of Detroit, MI and lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Lake Charles High School. He later enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served as an aircraft mechanic. He worked most of his life for the Calcasieu Parish Sherriff's Office from which he retired with 31 1/2 years of service.

Mr. Dore enjoyed creating pottery with wife, loved fishing and scuba diving with his family and grilling his legendary burgers for everyone. He loved to cook, his specialties being Italian Meatloaf and hundreds of cabbage rolls that he always looked forward to making with his "girl", his daughter. He took pride in teaching his sons about mechanics and working together on mechanical projects as well as riding motorcycles. He love, love, loved music, learning to play the violin during his younger years and accordion in his later years. Most importantly the countless hours of listening to old vinyl records, recording them onto disc and recording endless tapes and discs for family and friends. His greatest joy was his family and having them all together as they grew all the while, creating new memories. His family cherished most, the time they shared camping and scuba diving.

A devout Catholic, Mr. Dore will be remembered as a man of faith, prayer and family. A former member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, he attended Mass and prayed the rosary religiously.

He leaves to honor his memory, his wife of fifty-three years, high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Istre Dore of Lake Charles; daughter, Lisa Dore LeBoeuf (David) of Lake Charles; two sons, Joshua Artie Dore of Vinton and Dustin Dale Dore (Amanda) of Lake Charles; six grandchildren, Mary Rose Dore, Lauren Dalzell (David), Madison LeBoeuf, Victoria Dore, Ava Dore, and Julianne Dore; five great-grandchildren, Gabriel Dalzell, Kolten LeBoeuf, Naomi Dore, Alora Dalzell and Hudson Perkins and one sister, JoBella Dore Winters (Dale). Mr. Dore genuinely loved his fur babies through the years; he also leaves his beloved Ruby and Maggie Mae.

He was preceded in death by parents, Pierre Edward Dore and Angelic Manuel Dore and a daughter, Melissa Rose Dore.
