Jack Edward Hebert

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Edward Hebert, a beloved father, dedicated community member, and cherished friend, who left us on August 5, 2026, at the age of 85. Born in Sulphur, LA, on November 23, 1940, Jack spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved dearly.

Jack was a proud graduate of Sulphur High School, where his passion for baseball and football shone brightly. It was during his time at McNeese State University that he met the love of his life, Carolyn Ann Fontenot, and together they built a wonderful family. For 14 years, Jack served as a deputy sheriff, where he fulfilled his dream of being a true crime fighter. He advanced to chief deputy and ultimately led the narcotics division, making a difference in the lives of many.

After leaving the sheriff's department, Jack found a new passion in the automotive industry as a car salesman, eventually realizing his dream of owning Allstar Buick GMC. He treated his customers like family, often delighting children with a gold dollar and inviting them to call him "PawPaw Jack." His kindness was unmatched, and he never turned away anyone in need, always ready to lend a hand to his neighbors.

Beyond his business, Jack was an avid horseman, proud of the beautiful paint horses he bred and raised. His love for the outdoors and animals was only rivaled by his love for the Houston River Baptist Church, where he found comfort and community.

Those left to cherish PawPaw Jacks memory are his son, Keven Hebert; daughters, Khristine Hebert, Kelli Engel (Jett); grandchildren, Courtney Hebert, Brittany Ackoury (Brett), Gabby Fisher, Grant Engel; great grandchildren, Kori, Madilynn, Nason, John Paul, Mackenzie, Jackson.

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Fontenot Hebert; his parents Edward and Irene Hebert; sisters, Delores Beaudoin, and Camille Hebert.

We invite everyone to join us in celebrating Jack's life. A public visitation will take place on August 8, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur from 9:00 AM, The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Jack will then be laid to rest at 12:30 PM at Mimosa Pines Cemetery under the care of Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur.

PawPaw Jack, you will be dearly missed, but your kindness will echo in our hearts forever. Rest in peace.
