On December 10, 2018 Jack Raymond Colvin left this world to meet Jesus. Born May 16, 1938, to Dr. Jack M. Colvin and Myrtle Macel Patterson Colvin. He was raised and baptized in the Baptist faith. Jack graduated from Sulphur High in 1957. He attended Sowela in instrumentation and worked 43 years for Cit-Con Refinery. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, and most of all visiting with his grandsons and his many wonderful friends.
Jack is survived by Clara Winfree Colvin, wife of 38 years; son, Michael Andrew Colvin (Dierdre Miano); step-daughter, Amanda Foster Bankston (Jeddie); grandsons, Tristan Simon (Megan Aumiller), Tanner Simon and Eli Foster Falcon; great grand-daughter, Addisyn Rose Simon; sister, Patricia Colvin Guthridge; nephews, Scott Guthridge, Brett Guthridge (Steve Harvey).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2 P.M. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Sulphur with Mother Ally Perry officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery South in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the church from 3:30-8 P.M. with visitation continuing on Saturday, December 15, at 12 noon until time of the service.
Jack requested donations be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (ECW), The City of Refuge, Boys Village, or MD Anderson Cancer Center in lieu of flowers. Those were his favorite charities.
