Jackie Mae Singer Christ

Jackie Mae Singer Christ, 91, of Lake Charles passed away Saturday May 25, 2017 in the comfort of her family’s home.

Mrs. Christ was born in Washington, LA and lived most of her life in the Beaumont and Lake Charles area.  She enjoyed playing card games (particularly Skip-Bo) and was an avid reader.  She was a talented artist, painting countless landscape and nature portraits, and was also a talented writer of children’s stories, each dedicated to a special child in her life.  Mrs. Christ was a faithful Catholic, devoted to praying her rosary.  She was member of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.  She will be greatly missed and always remembered as a lady of grace and class, beautiful inside and out, with an overwhelming love and devotion to her family.

She leaves to cherish her memory, one son, Jack Gerard Christ of Lake Charles, son-in-law, Mack Lain Buel of Canyon Lake, TX; two grandchildren, Christen Maclaine and husband Zack and Allison Regina Buel of San Marcus, TX; two great-grandchildren, Camryn Laine Urban and Claire Elizabeth Urban, both of Canyon Lake, TX; one sister, June Marie Benoit of Lake Charles and many nieces and nephews that were near and dear to her heart.

She was preceded by her parents, Arthur Joseph Singer, Sr. and Georgie Regina Rembert Singer; husband, Robert James Christ; daughter, Cynthia (Cyndi) Buel and one brother, Arthur Joseph Singer, Jr.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 01, 2017 at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Monsignor Jace Eskind will officiate.  Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  A memorial gathering of friends and family will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 in the funeral home.
