Jacqueline “Jackie” Ann Johnson, born in Lake Charles on February 20, 1944, daughter of the late Lester Joseph and Beatrice Mae (Rogers) Richard, Sr., passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023, surrounded by her family at the age of 79.
A graduate of South Cameron High where she was involved in the home economics club, Jackie worked in banking for many years. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Cameron. She enjoyed sewing, collecting thimbles, crocheting, camping, listening to French music, but most of all, Jackie loved getting together with family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Karen “Cookie” Richard.
Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Seaborn “SJ” Johnson; son, Charles “Buster” Johnson and wife, Michelle; daughters, Regina Fontenot and husband, James, and Angie Thibodeaux and husband, Layton; brothers, Roger Richard and wife, Mollie, Lester “Ferpo” Richard and wife, Lidian, Barry Richard and wife, Carolyn, and Bryon “Goose” Richard and wife, Carla; grandchildren, Ashley B., Emma, Cameron, Derrek, Ashley C., Andrew, Taylor, Zachary, and Kaitlyn; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Braxton, Bobby, Emmerson, Brinley, Jolie, Wyatt, Maddox, and Eisley.
A gathering of friends and family begins Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Cremation will follow the gathering under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.Burial of her cremains will be in Our Lady Star of the Sea Cemetery on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Father Arvind Minz, HGN, Celebrant.
