Jacqueline Smith

October 26, 1950 — March 31, 2026

Jacqueline Greer Smith was born on October 26, 1950 in Brookhaven MS and raised in Bogue Chitto. She went home to be with the LORD on March 30,2026. She is preceded in death by her parents Cyril Nicholson Greer and Hazel Gatlin Greer.

“Jackie” grew up with a love for the outdoors. Her happiest days were spent on the back of a horse or casting a line in the pond. She was very athletic and excelled at basketball and softball. She was the first female Little League coach in Greensburg and her team won first place. The little town of Liverpool enjoyed spending Sunday ‘s in her front yard for some serious volleyball tournaments.

Jackie married the love of her life, Larry Smith, on May 10, 1968. They raised their family in the small town of Greensburg, LA. Jackie became a nurse in 1975 and found her calling in serving others. She served multiple communities for 45 years. She and Larry even ran a volunteer ambulance service for their hometown that did not have emergency access at the time.

One of her many passions was music. She enjoyed singing on the front porch, in the car, and all the way to the Louisiana Baptist Women’s Choir. Her love for the LORD was easily seen as she worshiped Him by singing solo’s, in trio’s, and the church choir.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Smith, 2 sons, Larry “Lee” Smith Jr. (Yani) Robert Dalco Smith (JoAnn) 1 daughter, Cindy Smith Watkins (Chris), 15 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jackie leaves a legacy of family, faith, and a love for people. She will be remembered by the many people she impacted through the course of her life. In memory of her love for CB radio, this is Lady Blue Smith signing off.

Please join us for a Celebration Of Life on April 18, 2026 at First Baptist Church, Greensburg, LA at 1pm.
