James Ernest Biggart passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at Harbor Hospice, following complications related to dementia.
Jim was born on April 30, 1954, in Flint, Michigan, to John "Jack" and Betty (Shaw) Biggart. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in chemical engineering and went on to begin a 30-year career at a local chemical plant in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Jim took great pride in his work and was deeply passionate about his career, excelling into upper management through dedication and leadership.
When he wasn't accomplishing great things at work, Jim enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and building. There was truly nothing he could not fix or create, and he generously passed that knowledge on to others. Jim lived by a strong work ethic, firmly believing that every task deserved 100% effort and should be done correctly the first time. His children carry these values with them to this day.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Betty Biggart; his brothers, Bobby Biggart and Paul Biggart; and his nephew, John-Paul Owens.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margie Biggart; his daughters, Christine Murray (Dustin), Tricia Falzone (Mike), and Julianne Labat (James); his grandsons, Graeme and Zack Murray, and Michael and Luke Labat; and his step-grandsons, Michael and Julian Falzone.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Jim's devoted caregiver, Aimee Glatt, and to the compassionate staff at Harbor Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness.
Jim will be forever missed. A celebration of life will take place in March.
