Jimmy Dockins, 50, of Grand Lake, passed away to his eternal home early Friday morning, December 29, 2017, in Groves, Texas.
Jimmy was born to Carl Glen Dockins and Linda Faye Brister on January 11, 1967, in Dallas, Texas. He lived most of his life in Cameron Parish where he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son and buddies. More than anything in his life, Jimmy loved his children and grandsons, and he savored the good times he spent with them. He will be remembered as a selfless man who would give you anything he had and made friends everywhere he went.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three children, Jerica Boudreaux and fiance Blake Matt of Grand Lake, Jacob Dockins and wife Kristy of Holmwood, Jaycee Dockins of Grand Lake; grandsons, Levi and Kylor; father, Carl Dockins and wife Brenda of Mabank, Texas; step-father, Warner Daigle of Lake Charles; brothers, Joey Dockins and wife Belinda of Sweetlake, and Jerry Dockins of Cameron; sister; Amanda Manning of Lake Charles; step-brothers, Curtis Manning, John Manning, William Daigle, James Daigle, Joshua Daigle; step-sisters, Angie Manning, Laura Arrington, Melinda Roseberry; paternal grandmother, Cecile Dockins.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Brister Daigle; step-father, George Manning; maternal grandparents, J.C. and Faye Brister; paternal grandfather, Carl “Buddy” Dockins.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home – Iowa. Bro. Eric Mann & Bro. Stan Kirby will officiate. Burial will follow in Sweetlake-Grand Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. in Johnson and Brown Funeral Home – Iowa. Visitation will resume Thursday at 8 a.m.until the start of the services.
