James Fontenot

James Emory Fontenot, 72, passed away at his residence on Monday, May 31, 2021.

He was born on January 26, 1949, in Lake Charles, LA to Emory and Elizabeth Fontenot.

He will be remembered as a hard-working man with a big heart. He enjoyed watching westerns on television and spending time in his outdoor kitchen.

He is survived by his son, Russell Fontenot (Hope Taylor); grandchildren, Melissa Fontenot and Courtney Taylor; great grandchildren, Noah James Taylor, Oliver Alexander, and Charlotte Taylor; brothers, Doris Lee Fontenot (Angie Oliver), Kenneth Fontenot (Shirley), Johnny Fontenot (Mary), and Jackie Fontenot; one sister, Ruby Royer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Fontenot; daughter, Melissa Ann Fontenot; grandson, Donald J. Fontenot; parents; and siblings, Robert Dale Fontenot and Pamela Jean Wright.                              

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 3 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from
