James Istre

Jimmy “Bill” Istre, 57, passed away on November 18, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Jimmy worked for Beverage Sales, Inc. for 38 years as a Warehouse Manager and was born in Lake Charles, LA. Jimmy loved to hunt and fish, and was a long time Saints and LSU fan.  He was known as a loyal family man with a heart of gold. Jimmy’s family and friends remember him as a loving, generous, teddy bear of a man. What made Jimmy the most happy was his family and grandchildren.

Mr. Istre leaves behind his wife, Sharon O’Neal Istre; son, Brandon James Istre (Jaclyn); sisters, Linda Rose Duplechin, and Elizabeth Istre Dore; brothers, David J Istre and Michael Istre Sr.; grandchildren, Gage Viator and Strason Istre; father and mother-in-law, John and Wanda O’Neal .

He is preceded in death by his parents, Nelton and Mary Istre; son, Chad Anthony Istre; and brother, Glenn J. Istre.

A funeral service will be held for Jimmy at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Laccassine Cemetery. Rev. Grady O’Neal will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 PM to 9 PM on Monday, November 21 with a Eulogy Service at 6:30 PM. Visitation will continue at 8 AM on Tuesday until the start of the service at 10 AM.
