James "Jimmy" Leger, Sr.

April 5, 1939 — January 17, 2019

James “Jimmy” Leger, Sr. passed away January 17, 2019 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 5, 1939 to Joseph and Angelle Leger. Jimmy proudly served his country in the Army as a light wheel vehicle driver. He retired from PPG after 34 years of service, was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed being outdoors doing the things he loved. Jimmy loved spending time with his family and friends. He was taken far too early and will be deeply missed.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Yvonne Leger of Sulphur; his children, Cheryl Robbins (Tad), James Leger (Dawn), Joseph Leger (Amanda), Christopher Leger, and Julie LeBlanc; grandchildren, Justin Parker (Vanessa), Faith Breaux (Brandon), Jasmun Haper (Cody), Carmen Leger, Amber Poole (Tanner), Hunter Leger, Austin Thibodeaux, Kayla Sauicer, Scott Oliver, and Kayla Fontenot; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 grand dog, Major Robbins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Gaberil  and Angelle leger; and his 5 siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 1:30 P.M. at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Jom Joseph officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery North in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 4-9 P.M. with a rosary at 6 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Sunday, January 20, at 10 A.M. until time of the service. The family would like to express their gratitude to Heart of Hospice.
