James Milton LeBlanc of Lake Charles passed away on October 7, 2025. He was born on December 10, 1944, to Dalton LeBlanc and AnnaBell Stelly LeBlanc in Lake Charles.
James was a 1965 graduate of Lake Charles High School and a 1970 graduate of McNeese State University. He spent six years in the U.S. Naval Reserve before going on active duty in the United States Army. He proudly served for over a decade as a Signal Corps Officer.
After his time in the service, James became an operational manager for Mercury Long Distance and later worked for Boeing in flight line quality assurance. In 1992, James began working for the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, where he served in the Civil Division for 22 years. His love for people and commitment to his community made him a valued member of the Sheriff's Office.
James was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and cherished his Catholic faith. He served on the school board at St. Margaret Catholic School for four years. As a founding member of St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, he was also a charter member of the church's Knights of Columbus and achieved the rank of Third Degree.
An avid outdoorsman and sportsman, James enjoyed hunting and fishing as often as he could. He also loved tending to his garden, where he found peace and joy in caring for the land.
James is survived by his children, Dr. Casey LeBlanc (Amy) and Paige Ann LeBlanc; his grandchildren, Erica LeBlanc and Isabelle LeBlanc; and his brother, Thomas LeBlanc.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Jacqueline "Jackie" LeBlanc; his parents, Dalton and AnnaBell LeBlanc; and his brother, John Dalton LeBlanc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, October 13, 2025, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church with Msgr. Harry Greig serving as celebrant. A graveside service will follow at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church and continue until the beginning of the service.
