James Lynn Mccown

James Lynn McCown, born on May 22, 1946, son of the late James Luther and Thelma (Desjardine) McCown, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the age of 77.
A graduate of Iowa High School, Lynn (Uncle Lynn) was a self-employed rice farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking and working on farm equipment.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
James is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debbie McCown; son, Benjamin McCown; brothers, Kenneth McCown (Mona), and Dale McCown (Emily). As well as numerous nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 2 p.m. Bro. Alan Weishampel officiating. Burial will follow Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday in the funeral home from 12 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m.
