Lake Charles – James D. “Boo” McDaniel, 69, passed away in his residence after a lengthy illness on Saturday, December 6, 2014.
“Boo” was born in Lake Charles on January 14, 1945 to the late “Davis” and Madeline Isabelle (Fontenot) McDaniel. He was a graduate of LaGrange High and a member of the local IBEW. “Boo” served in the U.S. National Guard. He was the owner of Acme Sign Company; a family owned and operated business by the Love family since the late 1930’s. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was of the Hebrew faith.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Love McDaniel of Lake Charles; daughters, Laura McDaniel of Lake Charles and Julie McDaniel Pascale (Donnie) of Grand Lake; grandchildren, Lauren Jackson, Taylor, Andrew, Matthew and Joshua Pascale; siblings, Lyles McDaniel (Louise) of Lake Charles, Jerry McDaniel (Nita) of Baytown, TX, Lane McDaniel (Shirley) of Sulphur, Jennifer McDaniel Courville (Timmy) of Duson and JoAnn McDaniel Niles (John) of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Dorothy McDaniel of Lake Charles; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, John McDaniel.
Funeral services are Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation is Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
