James Victor "Jim" Romero went to be with the Lord Friday 1/16/2026 peacefully in his home, surrounded by members of his family.
Jim was born in Lake Charles, LA in 1939. He served his country in the Army as a member of the 3rd Infantry Division and was stationed at the US Army Garrison at Wiesbaden, West Germany and at Ft Polk, LA. He worked as a welder, pipe fitter and inspector all over the US and in the North Sea off the coast of Scotland and was a member of Local 106.
He is survived by his wife, June, his children and their spouses, Paullette and Billy Szymanski, Lloyd and Karen Romero and James and Michelle Romero, his 9 grandchildren Courtney, Ashley, Colin, Erin, Shelby, Joe, Dalton, Rachel and Kinley and his 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Bana Romero Keller.
Jim's life was characterized by an attitude of contentment. He was quick to smile and laugh regardless of his circumstances.
"Not that I speak from want, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity: in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:11-13
