James Leroy Shields

Lake Charles – James LeRoy Shields, born October 20, 1935, son of the late Earl LeRoy and Cleo (Pitman) Shields, passed away on November 14, 2022, at the age of 87.
James served in the U. S. Air Force, and retired from the refinery as a welder. He enjoyed wood working, and working on old cars.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Jackie and Nina Shields; brother, Henry Shields.
James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margarita Shields; son, Roy White and, wife Tammy; brother, Ray Shields; 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 5 p.m. Rev. Roland Vaughn, Celebrant. Visitation begins Thursday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
