James Smithers

James William Smithers, Sr., 77, of Lake Charles, passed away at his home on August 6, 2018 at his residence after an extended illness.

James was a native and life-long resident of Lake Charles. He was an electrical worker and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Preceding James in death are his parents, Edward Charles and Mildred Bell Smithers, a sister, Teresa Treadway and a brother, E.J. Smithers. He leaves to honor and cherish his memory, his wife, Noemi E. Smithers; sons, James William Smithers, Jr and Eugene Smithers and wife Kelly; daughters, Jaimie Smithers Bardin and husband Heath and Leslie Smithers Gaskins and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday August 8, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens.
