James Wilkerson Duraso, Jr.

July 10, 1931 — January 28, 2018

James Wilkerson Duraso, Jr., 86, of Westlake passed away on January 28, 2018 in a local nursing home. He was a contractor and a lifelong carpenter who enjoyed building, animals, traveling, and reloading ammo.

 James is survived by his five children, Curtis Duraso and wife Jan, Tom Duraso, Gerry Fontenot all of Westlake, Jennifer Tranthem and husband Allen of LeBleu Settlement, and Crystal Duraso Cowell of Ragley; 7 grandchildren, Danika Johnson Landry, Timothy Duraso, Ashly Duraso, Anita Franks, Stefanie Stricklin, Daniel Tranthem, and Gage Cowell; and 17 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Annie Lou Ogden and Mary “Patsy” Sellers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eugenia Duraso; and his grandson, Nolan Fontenot; his siblings, Johnnie Mae Long, Jewell LeBlanc, and John “Terry” Duraso.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11 A.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Todd Barrow officiating. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home with visitation continuing on Friday, February 2, at 8 A.M. until time of the service. Pall bearers will be Chris Franks, Gerry Fontenot, Gage Cowell, Timothy Duraso, Crystal Duraso Cowell, Sherman Cowell, Anita Franks, and Curtis Duraso.
