Jane Milward Storozyszyn, age 69, passed peacefully in her sleep on January 24, 2019.
She had a Bachelor of Science in nursing degree and practiced for 45 years. She worked as a cardiac nurse, a pediatric nurse in Baton Rouge, Director of Nursing at Holly Hill House nursing Home in Sulphur; Nurse manager of the rehabilitation unit, skilled nursing unit at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, as well as in the Home Health department at LCMH.
She was also a Girls Scout leader, camp nurse, chaperone for youth groups, driver to dance classes, gymnastics, piano lessons, theater, and sports.
Jane played Pokeno once a month with the same group of ladies for years. She was also a part of Daughter of the King, Enterprise Club; Served on the church Vestry, was a Lector and Chalice minister at The Episcopal Church of Good Shepherd.
She had a genuine faith in God that was displayed throughout her life. She was one the most caring and selfless women you would have ever known.
She passed her faith, love, selfless, caring, strong work ethic, and love of the outdoors to her daughters and grandsons and she will be truly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Vivian Milward, and her mother-in-law Ilena M. Storozyszyn.
Left to cherish her memory is husband of 48 years, Bryan W. Storozyszyn; daughters Kristina M. Storozyszyn, Laura S. Cheaney and husband Matthew, Grandsons Cade N. Storozyszyn, Devon S. Cheaney; Father-in-law Frank F. Storozyszyn
A funeral will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd at 11AM on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Deridder at 2:30PM. Father Jim Lueckenhoff will officiate. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home from 9AM to 10:30AM Saturday morning.
