Janet Marie Landry, 74, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in Lake Charles.

Janet was born on February 12, 1951, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and from a young age displayed a deep love for people, animals, and service. She devoted 47 years of her life to nursing, a career in which she made an immeasurable impact on countless patients and families. She ended her career at Ochsner Health. During her time at East Jefferson Hospital, she was honored as one of the Top 100 Nurses, which was a direct reflection of her work ethic and character.

Beyond her professional achievements, Janet lived her faith through service. She volunteered at an equine rescue center, where she poured her heart into caring for horses and other animals in need. Her love for wildlife was evident in every aspect of her life. She adored her horse, Chief, and took great joy in tending to cows, chickens, birds, and her beloved cat, Angel.

Janet was known for her kindness, gentle spirit, and constant willingness to put others before herself. She lived as a true example of a selfless servant of Christ, touching the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her brothers Mike (Ginger) Landry of Oakdale, Louisiana; Keith Landry of Lake Charles; and Tommy (Susie) Landry of Lake Charles; and her sisters Norma (Karl) Iwane of Marietta, Georgia; Barbra Boone of Carlyss, Louisiana; and Janita (Mark) Strickland of Bee-Branch, Arkansas.

She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews: Trudy Lejune, Ronie Ann Lopez, Phillip Landry, David Landry, Tyler Iwane, Maddison Iwane, Peyton Iwane, Jason Selby, Chris Selby, Justin Landry, Christine Hinton, Mark Landry, and Mindy Reeds.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Louis Landry and Winnie Landry.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
