Jason Robert Pousson, 48, of Lake Charles passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at 10:20 AM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, in a local hospital.

Jason was born on September 9, 1977, in Lake Charles where he resided all of his life and was a 1996 graduate of Barbe High School. He went on to study at Sowella Technical Institute. He worked as an A&P mechanic for a total of 25 years with Northrop Grumman, Aeroframe Services, and most recently with Bristow, formerly ERA Helicopters, for 15 years.

A charter member of the Midnight Fantasies Car Club, Jason was a true custom car and truck enthusiast. He also loved spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. He was an avid LSU football and baseball fan as well as the New Orleans Saints. Known for his love of dancing and music, Jason brought joy to every gathering with his smile that could light up a room. To know Jason was to love him—he was a loyal friend for life.

Jason’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were blessed to know him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved sons, Drew and Drayke Pousson; siblings, Herman “Bubba” Pousson, Jr. (Sandy), Chris Pousson, Gwen Pousson-LeBleu (Ronnie), and Michelle Firmature (Michael); the mother of his children and her husband, Krista Speaks and Keith; friend, Ashley Nichols and her son, Jacob Hungerford; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donna and Herman Pousson, Sr.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 15, 2025, in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Steve Shirley will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.

Pallbearers will be: Mason Firmature, Ryan LeBleu, Roger Miller, Michael Styron, Trevor Jones, and Chad Pousson. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Pousson, Drayke Pousson, and Ronnie LeBleu.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the ICU nurses and doctors on the 9th floor of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for their sincere compassion and care given to Jason while under their care.
