Jayola "Jaye" C. Smedley
January 4, 1945 — February 7, 2018
Jaye was born in Monroe on January 4, 1945 to the late J. W. and Lovie Bell (Patoshia) Brady and passed away in a local hospital on February 7, 2018 at the age of 73.
Jaye was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed shopping and being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Brown Smedley, Sr. of Lake Charles; children, Paul Brown Smedley, Jr. of Lake Charles, Rodney Scott Smedley (Crystal) of Perrin, Texas and Sheila DeAnne Hegwood of Lake Charles; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Jimmy Hegwood, brothers, Joel Wayne Brady and Charles Douglas Brady and 2 infant sisters.
As per her request, she will be cremated and there will be a private memorial service at a later date.
