Jeanette Aucoin

Jeanette Aucoin, 78, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025.

Born on June 22, 1947, Jeanette was the embodiment of generosity, kindness, and a servant's heart. Cooking was her love language. Whether times were abundant or lean, her table was always full, and no one ever left her home hungry. She delighted in sharing her gift of food with friends, family, and those in need, making sure everyone felt cared for.

Jeanette's compassion extended beyond the kitchen. She spent hours crafting handmade rosaries. Often she would gift them to people as a symbol of faith and love. Even during her own hospital stay, she gave away her homemade jewelry to nurses and doctors on her floor, just to show how greatly she cared for those around her.

Together with her beloved husband, Robert Aucoin, Jeanette spent 25 years driving trucks and running their business, achieving the incredible milestone of over 1,000,000 accident-free miles. They were true partners on the road and in life, sharing more than 60 wonderful years together.

A woman of deep faith, Jeanette was active in Cursillo and proud to be one of the earliest members of the retreat. Her faith and kindness were evident in all she did. Above all of her accomplishments, Jeanette was a wonderful mother, a devoted grandmother, and a loyal friend. She gave of herself freely and wholeheartedly, always putting others first and doing everything from the heart.

Jeanette is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Guidry (Jack) and Rachel Aucoin-Lupo; her grandchildren, Hannah Courtney and Robert Courtney, and her Godchild Pat Godeaux. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Robert Aucoin; her parents, Howard and Agnes Godeaux; her daughter, Donna Fontenot; and her granddaughter, Ashley Guidry.

A funeral service to honor Jeanette's life will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at noon at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, with a Rosary at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Lacassine Cemetery.
