Jeanette Marie Chapel

Jeanette Marie Doucet Chapel, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on September 3, 2025. She was born on July 12, 1958, in Lake Charles, LA to Ignace “Pat” Doucet and Lillian Rogers Doucet.

She loved the color orange, New Orleans Saints football, raising Dobermans, and she was working towards her pilot’s license. She was a graduate of SOWELA Regional Technical Institute with a degree in Welding in 1991. She enjoyed traveling to Italy, Paris, Germany, Switzerland, Alaska, Hawaii, and she even lived in Saudi Arabia for 5 1/2 years.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband of 33 years Donald Chapel, Jr.; her daughter, Forress Clark and husband Neil; her son, Michael Chapel and wife Emily, all of Lake Charles; her stepson, Anthony Michael Chapel and wife Audria of Georgia; ten grandchildren: Scott Norman, McKenley Norman, Jaylin Fuselier, Zander Kirkland, Olivia Kirkland, Lucius Chapel, Chance Chapel, Kayla Chapel, Hunter Chapel, Kimber Chapel; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Stacy Renee Chapel Kirkland.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 6, 2025 in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel, 4321 Lake St. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday afternoon at 4:00 PM, continuing until 8:00 PM, with a rosary being recited at 6:30 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
