Jeanne Leoniel Farque Hartman

Jeanne Leoniel Farque Hartman, 97, of Lake Charles passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Hartman was born on January 2, 1922 in Monroe, LA and lived all of her life in Lake Charles. She was Salutatorian of the class of 1939 at Lake Charles High School. Mrs. Hartman was a dedicated homemaker and devoted to First United Methodist Church and was a member of United Methodist Women. She also belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.

In her spare time she enjoyed painting china pieces and also playing Bridge.

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, John L. Hartman (Ann); five grandchildren, Amy Bancroft, Timothy Bancroft (Kimberly), Erin Hartman, Jennifer Heemer (Grant), and Christine Hartman; five great grandchildren, Matthew, Meredith, and Andrew Bancroft, and Jack and Charlotte Heemer; son in law, Douglas Bancroft.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Maurice R. Hartman; daughter, Marcia Catherine Bancroft; sisters, Audrey, Eulah Mae, Rosemary, and Lenora; and parents, Myrtle and John Farque.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at First United Methodist Church. Pastor Weldon C. Bares and the Reverend Katie Black will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will begin in the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
