LeBleu Settlement-Jennifer “Jenny” Ann Self LaFleur, 69, passed away in her residence surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness on Friday, January 22, 2016.
She was born in Lake Charles to the late James Virgil and Ollie Mae (Brown) Self on August 28, 1946. Jenny was a 1965 graduate of Marion High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She married Marvin Lee LaFleur, Sr. on May 12, 1967. Bowling was one of her favorite pastimes and she also enjoyed being with family.
Her survivors include her husband of 48 years, Marvin Lee LaFleur, Sr.; son, Marvin Lee LaFleur, Jr. and ex-wife, Rachel LaFleur Myers; daughters, Mary Ann Andrews (John), Kimberley Ann Giaimis (Tony); sisters, Cathy E. Rougeau (Steve), Mae Duhon (Mike); grandchildren, Bryce, Brooke, Baylie & Blake LaFleur, Lyndsie Nicole Giaimis, Alyssa & Sean Andrews; great-grandchild, Raylee Ann Ducotey and numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Sidney & Dora LaFleur.
Funeral services will be in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Father Andreas Kedati officiating. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation is Sunday in the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continues Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
