Jerry G. Jones Jr.

Jerry G. Jones, Jr., 65, of Grand Lake, Louisiana, passed away on May 13, 2026. He was born on April 9, 1961 in Cameron, Louisiana to Jerry and Jeanine Jones.

Jerry G. was known for his adventurous spirit, stubborn determination, and deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working his land, but above all, he cherished being a loving Pawpaw to his grandchildren.

He showed his love through cooking, often bringing family and friends together around his table for great food and a tall tale. G was especially known for his homemade gravy, crawfish boils, and the joy he found feeding the people he cared about most.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories: his daughters, Rachel Jones Hoffpauir (Cody) and Laila Grace Jones; his son, Dakota Jones; his grandchildren, Rowan and Brayden Hoffpauir; his father, Jerry G. Jones Sr.; his sisters, Deborah Alexander (Glenn) and Lori Auerbach (Jon); and his nephew, Jacob Auerbach.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanine Pipes Jones; maternal grandparents, Jay and Mary Pipes; and paternal grandparents, Jennings and Lola Jones.

A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, 10378 Big Lake Rd., Lake Charles, LA 70607. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM until the start of the celebration. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Mark Broussard for his friendship, generosity, and unwavering support during Jerry G's illness. His care and compassion meant more to G and his family than words can express.
