Jerry Robert Lapearous

Iowa – Jerry Robert Lapearous, born March 7, 1951, son of the late Grady Joseph and Beulah (Melancon) Lapearous, passed away in his residence Thursday, October 25, 2018, at the age of 67.
Jerry was a graduate of Iowa High School and attended Louisiana Tech in Ruston. He retired from PPG as a machinist. Jerry was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church of Iowa. He was active in the Iowa community for many years; served as an Alderman for the Iowa City Council and many other capacities.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Lapearous Leonard and husband, Russell, of Iowa; 3 nieces, Anissa Faye Leonard Lawson of Columbus, Ohio; Rebekah Ann Leonard Wilson of Waxahachie, Texas; Jessica Gail Leonard Rademaker of Keller, Texas; and 1 nephew, Russell Lynn Leonard, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 10 a.m. in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa with Father Dismas Mauk officiating. Burial will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. and resume Monday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
