Jesse Leo Lafleur

LeBleu Settlement – Jesse Leo LaFleur, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at the age of 87. Jesse was born in Washington, LA on August 12, 1933 to the late Victor and Coralie (Soileau) LaFleur.
He enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, spending time with his family and fishing hoop nets in Calcasieu River. Jesse was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served as a member of the men of St. Joseph. He worked as a painter until he retired from Painters Local 783.
Survivors include his children, Tracy LaFleur and wife Cookie, Troy LaFleur and wife Jessica, Rhonda Gwatney and husband Jimmy, Arlene Rich and husband Mike; sister, Elaine Dupont, Mary Jane Dupre; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Velva Dean LaFleur; parents; son, Jesse Neal LaFleur; stepmother, Joisine LaFleur; brothers, Melvin, John, Ken, Paul and Duffy LaFleur; sisters, Eunice Guillory, Belle Fortier and Laura Jane Bloxham.
Funeral Services will be held in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 1 p.m., Father Keith Pellerin, Celebrant. Burial will follow in LeBleu Cemetery. Visitation begins Saturday, in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 12:30 p.m.
