Jessie Jean Davant

Jean Davant, 83, passed away in the comfort of her home on August 7, 2016, surrounded by her family.  Jean enjoyed traveling, sewing and scrapbooking.  She was retired from Vincent Christian Academy as a 2nd grade teacher.  Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.  Jean was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur. 

Jean is survived by her husband of 65 years, Don; their children, Donna (Stuart) Walthers, Debbie (Ed) Thierbach, James Davant, Jr., Diane (Mark) Tarver and Denise (Mike)Tabor; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and extended family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her daughter in law, Ramona Davant; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services for Jean will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 1 PM at First Baptist Church of Sulphur.  The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 13, 2016, from 10-1 PM at the church.  Burial will follow at Mimosa Cemetery South in Carlyss.
