Jimmie Bradley, 87, of Moss Bluff, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and quiet strength.
Jim’s life took a beautiful turn when he walked into a restaurant and met the love of his life, Brenda Harkins. He liked to say he knew he had her hooked when he left her a quarter tip. The two quickly fell in love—dating for just three weeks before he proposed, and marrying three weeks later. When Jim married Brenda, he willingly gave up his red sports car, sailboat, and even part ownership in an airplane, lovingly saying he gave up his “toys for the boys,” embracing her three sons as his own with a heart of gold.
A man who could do just about anything, Jim worked faithfully at PPG for 42 years. At the age of 50, he and Brenda built their home together, a testament to his skill, determination, and partnership. He was also extremely artistic and creative, known for his drawing and craftsmanship. He was also an avid fisherman who found peace on the water.
Jim was a man of deep faith who read his Bible every day. Gentle and humble, he preferred staying in the background, always putting others first. He was a quiet coach through life—guiding his three sons and daughter through life with patience and wisdom, never missing a chance to tell them, “You are the best children a man could ever ask for.”
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Brenda Harkins Bradley; children Don Bradley (Mary), Bryan Bradley (Angela), Scott Bradley (Jennifer), Brandi Welch (Michael); grandchildren: Jerad Bradley, Amy Andrus, Rachael Perrine, Jason Bradley, Caleb Bradley, Bryan Matthew Bradley II, Kelley Belli, Krista Paul, Karis Bradley, Nathaniel Ethridge, Andrew Ethridge, James Welch, Joshua Welch, and Garreth Welch; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A Funeral in honoring Jim will take place on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 2:00pm with visitation beginning at noon. A graveside service will take place at Highland Memory Gardens following the service.
Jim will be remembered as a faithful servant, a loving husband and father, a gentle soul, and a man whose quiet life made a lasting impact on all who knew him.
