Jimmie Roy Livergood, 76, passed away in the comfort of his home on Monday May 1, 2017, surrounded by his beloved family.
Mr. Livergood was born on June 13, 1940 in Arlington, TX. He was a graduate of Kingsville High School in Texas. Following graduation, he honorably served our country in the United States Army. His distinguished service included two tours in the Vietnam War as well as duty stations all over the world. He retired from the Army after 20 years of service as an aircraft mechanic.
Upon retirement, Jimmie moved to Maplewood where he and his family resided until moving to Lake Charles three years ago to be near his son. After serving in the Army, he began a career with Boeing before retiring from Northrup Grumman in 2000.
Mr. Livergood enjoyed spending time at the Isle of Capri Casino playing the slot machines. He was also a loving and devoted father who will be sorely missed.
Preceding Mr. Livergood in death are his parents, Charles and Edna Livergood and his daughter, Nathalie Amber Livergood. He leaves to honor and cherish his memories, his beloved wife of 53 years, Francoise Jacqueline Bonneau Livergood; son, Christopher Livergood; son-in-law, John LaFleur; grandchildren, Emilie Walker, Alexis Walker and Emma Walker; and a sister, Gale Rossie.
Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Wednesday May 3, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A celebration of his life will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday, concluding with the rendering of full military honors.
