Jodey Lee Olsen, 71, is a “gone pecan”. He passed away on December 22, 2023, surrounded by his beautiful family after a second battle with cancer. Jodey owned Fletchers Feed Store for many years. He loved westerns and was a rodeo clown for many rodeos in the past. Jodey was a 1970 graduate of Sulphur High School where he was involved in rodeo. He was a pipefitter/welder by trade. Jodey was minimalistic and loved a good drink. Many people looked up to Jodey and he was loved by all.
Jodey is survived by his children, Dusty Olsen and wife, Tana, Summer Stinson and husband, Donovan, and Sydney Miguez and husband, Neal; 12 grandchildren, Gavin, Bryndle, and Hagger Olsen, Brooklyn, Avery, and Elliot Vincent and Keelynd, Kynslee, Keller, and Kasen Stinson, and Hattie and Finn Miguez; one sister, Renee Hicks and husband, Jimmy; three loving nieces, Cheri “Rita Faye” Blades, Lauren Thomas, and Kristin Gray; five great nieces and nephews, and his beloved former wife and mother of his children, Linda Olsen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles “Buster” Olsen and Gertie Olsen, one son, Jim Bob Olsen and one daughter, Hayley Olsen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10 AM at Our Lady of LaSalette Catholic Church with Father Edward Richard, M.S. officiating. Burial will follow at Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 5-8 PM with a rosary at 6 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday from 8:30 AM until time to leave for the church.
