John "Billy" Puckett

John “Billy” Puckett, 74, passed away at a local care facility on November 5, 2018.

Mr. Puckett was born in Houston and moved to Lake Charles in 1956. He was a 1962 graduate of Lake Charles High School and a 1972 graduate of McNeese State University. Professionally, Billy was a Landman in the oil and gas industry. He was a member of the Louisiana Association of Professional Landmen and the American Association of Professional Landmen. Mr. Puckett was also a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Terry Puckett Romero of Jackson, TN; brother, Jimmy Lyons Puckett (Mary) of Sherwood, AR; three nieces, Christie Romero Broussard, Ellen Romero Neely, and Sarah Puckett Burns; and a nephew, John Puckett.

Mr. Puckett is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Jimmy Lee Puckett; and brother, Sammy Bishop Puckett.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 4:30PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Pastor Andy Neely will officiate. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home and inurnment will be at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2PM until the start of the service at the funeral home.
