John Robert Daigle, born on March 27, 1942, in Lacassine, son of the late John Jasper Daigle, and Rena Belle Corbello, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the age of 79.
John was self-employed farmer for over 20 years and was farmer of the year in 1974. He worked for Austin Industries as a pipefitter and at many local chemical plants and retired while at Westlake Polymer. He was a member of the Thornwell Warehouse Association and was a founding member of the Lacassine Optimist Club.
John was a hardworking, generous, kind-hearted man and was a supporter of the church, his family, and many others.
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Claude Daigle; George Daigle; Arthur Lee Daigle; son-in-law, Kirk Travis.
John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Betty Edwards Daigle; daughter, Wendy Daigle Travis; John “Jed” E. Daigle; siblings, Charles Dennis Daigle (Shirley); Katherine Roshto; Mary Langley; Judy Richard (Michael); Linda Arthur (Gary); brothers-in-law, Eric Harold Edwards; Dennis Edwards (Brenda); sister-in-law, Nicole See (David); grandchildren, Joshua Ryan Daigle (Lyndsey); great-grandchildren, Savannah; Makenna; Jaxon.
Private services have been entrusted to Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Interment will be in Lacassine Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
