John Dennis Robbins

November 3, 1953 — April 22, 2020

John Dennis Robbins, born 11/3/1953, at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital in Sulphur, La, went home on Wednesday 04/22/2020 to join his Mom, Dad, family, and friends who passed before him.  John was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.  John was raised in Sulphur, La and lived there most of his life.  He was raised by his loving parents in the Henning Memorial United Methodist Church and proud to be a Christian.

John was a welder by trade and was very proud of the work he did.  John never met a stranger and would go out of his way to help anyone in need.  He was a loving and giving person and will be remembered for that always.  John had a smile for everyone he met every day of his life.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, shrimping, and crabbing from his youth into his adult life.  He enjoyed going to the movies from Drive-Ins to the new Theatres.  He loved to watch sports, and in his later years, he enjoyed classic westerns.  He especially enjoyed his visits with his family and friends and loved to see his nieces, nephews, and their children.

John was extremely proud of his daughter Sarah and granddaughter Janie.  He would always find a way to bring them into the conversation when visiting with friends and family.  They were the treasures that he held on to, loved, and cherished.  Thinking of them and talking about them brought him joy and happiness; His face would light up and his smile would shine when introducing them to anyone and everyone that walked by during their visits.  His love for his family was undeniable and unconditional!

John is survived by his daughter Sarah Jane Kirk, her husband Corey Kirk, and grand-daughter Janie Aguero, by two brothers, James “Butch” Robbins and wife Pat and Joel Robbins and wife Cassie. John will be missed by his nieces, Katy Cornette and Megan Vidrine, nephews, Jason Robbins, Joshua Robbins, and Jeremy Robbins, and their families.

John was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bernice Robbins, who are wrapping their arms around him and welcoming him home, as you read this.  He will be missed here on Earth by those who loved him, but will now enjoy his everlasting life in Heaven!

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
