John Ellison Echterhoff, Jr.

John Ellison Echterhoff, Jr. passed away unexpectedly in a local hospital on October 31, 2018.

Mr. Echterhoff was born in San Antonio, TX on January 25, 1952 to John and Margaret Thompson Echterhoff. He will be remembered as an avid salt water fisherman. He was an extremely spiritual person with a kind soul. Mr. Echterhoff worked as a Quality Assurance Auditor for various nuclear power stations. He graduated from Churchill High School in San Antonio in 1970. He then went on to proudly serve in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam Conflict.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sandra E. Langelier Echterhoff; daughter and son in law, Summer and Jeff Evans; daughter in law, Linda Echterhoff, sister, Nina Echterhoff; granddaughter, Ellison “Ella” Evans and three grandsons, Heath Evans, Eli Echterhoff, and Daniel Hayes.

Mr. Echterhoff is preceded in death by his parents; his son, John E. “Trey” Echterhoff III, and brother Evan Echterhoff.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. A Rosary and Scripture Service will be at Johnson Funeral Home at 6:00 PM on Thursday, November 8, 2018. Deacon Glenn Viau will officiate. Visitation Thursday will be from 4:00 PM until the start of the service.
