John Franklin Fowler Iii

August 1, 1931 — November 11, 2018

John Franklin Fowler III, 87, passed away on November 11, 2018.

 

Mr. Fowler was a graduate of Texas A&M University. After college he served in the United States Air Force. He then became a proud employee of Schlumberger Offshore until his retirement. In 1972 he moved to Lake Charles. He was a parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was an avid tennis player and golfer and was a member of the Lake Charles Country Club and Lake Charles Racquet Club. Mr. Fowler, affectionately known as “Paw” to his grandchildren, was very devoted to his family. They fondly remember many yearly vacations “Paw” would organize for the whole family.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Miller (Pete); daughter, Allison Pryor (Mike); son, Tom Fowler; daughter, Dee Stout (Ronnie); eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Helen Teri Fowler Susmann.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Marianne Fowler; parents, Frank and Courtney Fowler; and two sisters, Carita Matthews, and Betty Southern.

 

A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday, November 15th, at 2PM. Deacon Harold Nixon will officiate. Cremation will follow the service with a future inurnment at Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin at the funeral home Thursday morning at 10AM until the start of the service.
