Iowa – John Cooper Guidry, born in Lake Charles on November 4, 1990, son of Vic and Lana (Benoit) Guidry, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at the age of 30.
John, a graduate of Iowa High School and Sowela Technical Community College as a draftsman. Ever the life of the party, he loved being with his family and friends. John was a Cowboy and could do anything: calf rope, ride bulls, weld, blacksmith, carpenter work, leather work, roof you name it, John could do it. Most of all, he was the greatest uncle to his niece and nephews.
Gathering of friends and family will be held in the Harper Morgan Rodeo Arena, located at 104 Hwy 165, Iowa, La on Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. A celebration of John’s life will begin at 2 p.m. with his friend, Winston Quesenberry officiating. Cremation will follow the service under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa.
John is survived by his parents, Vic and Lana Guidry; sister, Ali Gayhart and husband, Derrick; brother, Victor Reuben Guidry, and wife, Rachael; girlfriend, Danielle Tilley; niece, Ella Guidry; nephew, Greyson Guidry; nephew and godchild, Samuel Gayhart; granny, Lou Ann Benoit; numerous aunts; uncles; & cousins; his beloved dogs, Hagen & Cowboy.
John is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence Benoit; John Carl Guidry & Mary Anne Guidry; uncle, Rufus Paul Benoit and his friend, Stafford.
