John Hudson Smith

John Hudson Smith, 85, died at 11:55 PM Sunday, June 7, 2015 in a local care facility. John was born on October 4, 1929 in Lake Charles, LA to Irvin and Florence Smith. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School. He was a member of University Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and shrimping. He is survived by four loving children, Patsy Rougeau and husband Tony of Eunice, LA, Martin Smith and wife Karen "Kay" of Lake Charles, LA, Nancy Drott and husband Bob of Lake Charles, LA, Karen Shumate and husband Doug of Moss Bluff, LA; two sisters, Mary Hadden of St. Francisville, LA and Margret Willsey and husband Glenn of Bonifay, FL; twelve grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Ida May Smith; sister, Annie Smith; and one grandson, Joel Rougeau. Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Visitation will resume at Johnson Funeral Home from 8:00 AM until time of service Thursday, June 11, 2015. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Rev. Ron Weber will officiate services.
